Sweet Louise.
The best word to describe this special girl is lovely. Spend an afternoon hanging out with this dog, letting her squish up against you or show you her belly, and you’ll see why. Louise loves walks, is a huge fan of cuddle time, and can solve a puzzle toy and find the stinky treats inside faster than you can say, “Good girl!”
Louise was a long stay dog at the city shelter and arrived at our behavior program with a bit of a reputation. We learned almost immediately that it was not at all deserved. Louise did have some trust issues with people but she is so eager to love and feel safe that she’s come around quickly. She’s gone from a dog too tense to relax to a girl who falls asleep curled next to you on the floor. She responds well to training and loves the opportunity to interact with her people. In fact, when Best Friends star trainer John Garcia came to APA!, Louise was the dog that most charmed his socks off with her slobbery kisses and open heart!
At this time, Louise may likely need to be the only dog in a home. However, she is making progress and it really doesn’t matter anyway because this amazing dog has plenty of love to fill a home all on her own!
